I’ve tried a good amount of different protein brands/flavors/types. Optimum Nutrition used to be my go-to for a couple years, but they kept having the lawsuits where they’d be found time and time again falsely advertising how much protein they actually put in their blend.Rightfully fed up with them, I started shopping around. I’ve tried ISO100, NitroTech, Cellucor, RedLine, and even cheap bargain BOGO stuff from SuppHunt. I finally found a good deal on the MusclePharm Combat cookies and cream protein.First time I had it, I genuinely thought there was nothing like it. It’s taste was so good, I thought it had to be unhealthy. It kind of reminds me of the taste of an Oreo McFlurry from McDonalds. Nothing healthy on the market like this stuff. The cool part is the five different types of protein in each serving make it good for those of us that like or want to have our post workout intake and pre-bed intake be from the same stuff. It felt good for muscle recovery, and seemed to work very well as a protein source.Snag it while you can. This stuff has completely replaced other brands. Flavor for Cookies and cream has to be 9.5/10. The only flavor from muscle pharm I don’t care for is chocolate milk. Peanut butter cup is also pretty decent.

I’ve been using Whey isolate mostly, but tried this as I wanted a more substantial “feeling” after taking it. Whey isolate is not necessarily a good meal replacement or appetite suppressor but I find this balanced mixture a better fit for what I was looking to accomplish. I intermittent fast and my first meal is usually oatmeal but when I supplement that meal with this protein drink I find it rounds it out nicely so that I don’t crave more food or calories. The taste is good too (cookies and cream flavor). It does tend to get a little granular in terms of consistency, so you have to shake well and sometimes often but that’s something I don’t mind. I like it a lot and I plan to buy again.

I started getting serious about my workouts sometime last year and wanted to visually see improvements. The first thing I did as a 62 year old man was to get back to lifting heavy weights and being consistent. The second thing I did was get the right amount of protein in my body. Before this period I wasn’t monitoring how much nutrients (and junk food) I was consuming and ultimately I was wasting my time and energy working out. Now I do monitor nutrients and I have been using MusclePharm Combat Protein Powder to build up my protein consumption. Now it takes a while for older men to really show improvement, but I will say that it has been impresive. I have slimmed down but not lost too much weight and I have been showing some cuts where there were almost nothing there before. This product will work with any aged fitness junkie like me. I would strongly recommend that you buy this product if you are trying to be consistent and build a better body for yourself. The taste is great.I use it with Organic Almond Milk or Coconut Milk blended with a few berries every day.

I usually mix my protein shakes with almond milk instead of water, but the taste of this powder is actually quite good. Now I know, most protein powders are chalky, gritty and sometimes hard to swallow, but this one mixes well with water and tastes great. I have never tried this brand before, but it doesn’t make me feel bloated and doesn’t upset my stomach.

  5. Redhead31

This is the best tasting protein powder I have ever tried. I bought the chocolate milk flavor and put it in the fridge to cool a bit before drinking. It’s absolutely delicious. I also like that this is a protein blend and sometimes drink this before going to work. I truly believe this has made a big impact on how hungry I am after work and as a result, my ability to make wise food choices when I get home.

I bought this hoping it would help git dem gainz, as they say. I’m still weak but the taste is great. It’s probably not the Gain Dust’s fault – I probably just need to work harder. The thing about reviewing this that’s tough though (like, mentally – not in a physical kind of way), is that I don’t really have a good way to verify the contents. I mean, I’m not like going to open up a chemistry lab and check the ratios of the protein types, or measure the rate at which the stuff is metabolized in some surrogate material. So, I’m left with two things I can actually review: (1) taste, and (b) mixability. It tastes great and mixes in well when I use it with a mixer bottle. I suppose I’ll just trust that it contains what they say it does.

  7. James Dr

As an athlete, I have been taking protein supplements off and on for 15 years. I have tried everything from top shelf whey isolate powders to cheap blends with lots of sugar. I have also taken Casein supplements on their own depending on what my goals are at the time. I have had experience with the good, the bad, the expensive, the cheap, the delicious, the disgusting, and everything in between. When it comes to this product, the blend/ratio of whey, casein, and egg proteins are very similar to that of the more expensive blends. I’m generally not too picky when it comes to flavors, but this protein tastes great; like a post training desert! I just mix it with water in my shaker bottle and thats it. The value is outstanding when comparing the price per serving size with that of the competition. I actually bought this when it had a coupon available as well so it ended up being the cheapest option. Overall, this protein is a perfect option for those who want to supplement their normal protein intake and athletes who are looking for pre/post/intra workout support. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because they don’t tell you exactly how many grams of each protein you get per serving.
